A fresh blank canvas in hand and I am ready to go!
Here is the spot for Karl Marx Urbo. I picked it as it is the largest area within this region and I wanted some nice room to expand into eventually.
I decided on an area in the north east as I wanted to stay away from the river in the south for now and also wanted to leave as many trees as I could so I found this nice little clearing. I am starting in a star type pattern to maximise growth and efficiency.
Some added expansion as there was demand for some commercial areas (the blue in the north east) and some industrial (the yellow in the south east). With all this new industry more homes were needed and so they have gone to the new block in the west. I am still adding more farmland around each block as its both in demand and in keeping with our current rural feel.
Things are expanding nicely as jobs continue to grow more housing is needed. There's two points now that I must focus my attention on, one is trying to improve the industrial area. I am thinking about adding some recreational items in the centre of it to improve the workplace conditions for the workers in the industrial Co-Operatives. The other matter is to place the building that is to house the Area People's Committee for Karl Marx Urbo.
I decided to put the committee building here within the commercial block as it is close to the three different areas and in the long run I think the commercial side will expand more to the east while residential areas will go to the north and west and the industrial to the south making this area potentially the central location of the city.
Tennis court and some park areas for the workers, all provided for free!
Workers enjoying their downtime.
Now a question has come up, with demand still so high for housing do I, build outwards or upwards? I am trailing an upwards development in this centre block. Lets see what happens.
Some apartment buildings have now been built and to compensate for smaller living conditions we have now put in some flower gardens, a children's play area and also some allotments.
An overview of how our city is coming along.
